This weekend was just amazing! Thanks to all the natural and human elements, that led us to spend this past weekend as we did. Pure happiness, I am telling you.
At Friday, it was 15th of May I guess, yeah It was 15th, I have picked up Barca at her home and we hit the road in our Škoda Fabia, just as Henry S. Thompson with his Dr. Gonzo in red cabriolet through the desert on their way to Las Vegas. Ok, we were on the road and went to visit a brother of my father, my uncle STANÍK, Standa, Stanislav and place I was used to be there a lot, Rejdice. It is in Jizerské Hory, just next to the Krkonoše mountain.
This is an article about our trip, my and my girlfriend, to visit my uncle and place, where I used to be a lot in my childhood - Rejdice.
Standa let us to sleep on his cottage also with 6 other guys from Prague, I knew one, Barca no one. They were just fine, a group of 6 people, something around 30 years, they knew each other from college. We thought they are mostly programmers, but they were not. Never mind. The first, Friday night, we went to sleep early, with no social acquaintance that evening.
The second day, Saturday, in the morning I woke up early, the whole house was still sleeping, Barca also. So I picked up my things quietly as a mouse and stepped out to feel the morning sun and fresh mountain air. I just love it. I just love to feel the wet grass on my feet and feel the heat on my skin when the morning sun falls on it. The sound of singing birds and rustling stream and the smell of all the flowers and trees around. It is so amazing to just sit everywhere it is comfortable for you, settle down and listen, only listen and feel everything around. This gives, to humans like me, almost superhuman power and energy, with a morning like this you can do everything you want on that day.
When I came back to the cottage, Štěpánka is its name, Barca was already up and ready to go for breakfast. We made eggs with English ham and toast bread. Delicious, believe me.
After this great morning food, we went to see skiing slope which was nearby, where we had found a trampoline and laid down on it, the sun was shining heavy but gently spring breeze was cooling us down. This actually pretty dangerous, because you think how great it is and the second day your face is red as a red carpet in Cannes at the film festival. Barca could tell, haha.
The day took us to my uncle's partner's cottage, which was just a few kilometers away, it was great as well. Since the last time there run out a few years and I couldn't recognize it there. My uncle is a builder, with big B (not sure if English speaking countries use this, anyway it means that he is a hell of a builder) and he is 72! Man such a condition, what's incredible more? He defeated fucking cancer which tried to kill him a few years back, he is a pretty mother fucker badass. I like him. We spend there such a nice time. Standa gave us guided visitation, then we got some food and desert and then we said goodbye and went to see our most beautiful lookout tower - Štěpánka. Under that tower, we drunk one beer each, then tried to find some White Rocks - Bílé Skály, but we got lost suddenly so we had to leave the track and go straight to the hill, where was the tower. Finally, we made it and saw Štěpánka, it was fantastic as well. Highly recommend. Highly recommend together with few stones which are close to the tower where stands a breathtaking view as well.
As we came back we started to drink a bit, got offered a typical Balcan food, called Musaka. Thanks to you, good people - Tom, Anet, Radek, David, Terka, Lenka. Afterward, we started playing a completely new game for me, which was a Citadela. It lasted until 3 am. I was dead, and I did lose, really bad, it was fun though.
The next day we got up a bit later than the day before but still first, haha. I did my walk to the stream and to breathe some fresh air, then picked up Barca in a bad and had breakfast, delicious again. The afternoon was in the sign of White rocks which we hadn't found on Saturday, on Sunday we made it and reached them, together with our new friends from Prague. I just love to sit and look far far away, trying to see everything, like the big picture of a whole and every little detail at the same time. It's crazy how amazed you can be just by staring into the distance. Love it. Then we broke the group and went back for our car which was parked next to a little private brewery. They had a beer called a Prdek, which means a little fart. It was really delicious.
In the evening we came back to Štěpánka cottage, Standa was there and was just burning some old branches and wooden boards. We made a little snack for him, because he was hungry, teared up some Bear Garlic - Medvědí Česnek. Really good herb, you can eat it all, it tastes like a pea but it is spicy and more healthy, it has natural antibiotics and antioxidants inside. After packing all of our stuff we said goodbye to Standa and set on the road again, this time back home though. Last of our stopovers was on the hill above Rejdice to see the sunset, it was amazing. Amazing like the whole weekend. More days and times like this.
I feel really big gratitude for being where I am right now and for being able to do thinks I do.
Thank you for reading,
