Gained, a lotta. Spanish fam, new adventures, new insights

Updated: May 31, 2020

(*just finished my two years old article)

Long time no see I've been busy sorry for that. This is not going to be a school article even it should be one, but I need to get the need to write, so let's do it. The last few weeks were pretty busy, interesting and very enriching, as to seeing new places, meeting new people and experiencing new experiences, tongue twister alert, ahhh I am looking forward to new Deadpool, yes!

So what was my best experience yet? Maybe it was surfing because it was on my bucket list for so long, maybe it was snowboarding because of snowboarding in Spain?! No way man, almost everybody is going to Spain to swim, sunbath and do summer those summer things, but not because of the snow and snowboarding. I made it and went for snowboarding in Spain, a lovely experience, thanks to friends Paul and Maria.

What is leading me to another topic, big topic, my new Spanish friends, they are that family which I've been missing here yet and as I'm expecting I will miss them as I will be back with my own family and my girlfriend again. I was thankful to them until the last days of my Erasmus stay and won't forget their kindness and friendship - Iker, Maria, Paul, Ainoah aka TainyRainy, Beto, Sara, Ismail those names changed my Erasmus stay about 180°degrees. They showed me the city of Bilbao from their point of view, not as a foreigner and tourist but as a local. They showed me their favorite places, their friends, their homes, and their families. I will be always thankful and blessing them, I hope that this year won't be the last one we will see each other (it wasn't).

Almost all of the experiences I'm experiencing are because of those ones. For example this weekend, 05/05/2018, we had a trip to Kotarr Circuito, where a Drifting competition took its place, amateurs, and pros together. Only classification rounds, because it was Saturday, final rounds were on Sunday, never mind we had a good time under the sun. Yeah under the sun, just right under the sun, so another one of the biggest memory is maybe my burned neck and sunburned T-shirt sleeves haha, sexyyyy. Just kidding the best thing happened on the way home, Maria's grandmother lives near Bilbao in the Valle de Mena. Its a valley with nice green hills all around. On the top of one of the hills is a very cozy Cafeteria, can't remember the name, sorry, but I do remember the great views and the nice warm feeling I had while I was drinking a typical drink - ColaCao (something like Granko in my country) with my Spanish friends while watching the sunset.

Another amazing trip was with the whole squad, 5 of us, to the Arnedillo and their hot springs - Las Pozas de Arnedillo. On the way there we had made a stop in one old abandoned quarry and also in car service because BMW tires are thin and incline to burst. Rear-drive, haha. Before going to the springs we have made a short hike to the hills over Arnedillo springs, as we were sitting on a rock and looking to the valley bunch of Rock Eagles started to fly above our heads, in few moments it was a pretty weird feeling, but very fascinating. Anyway, I think we were too big for them so they didn't eat us, thank god.

As we got down again, we tried the water in little spring pools. The water was appreciably different apart from how it was called "Hot springs". Maybe they were called like that because outside water the temperature was around 5°C. Despite this cold fact we jumped in and enjoyed sitting there and observing the night falling on the landscape around. It was just amazing to lay down in the water with head resting on the edge of the stone pool and watching stars above our heads. Anyway as you stayed in the water for some time you get used to the low temperature, but maybe it was because of the Vodka with some soda, we were drinking. Not sure, but what I am sure about is that it was another beautiful experience I gained thanks to the Spanish friends I have. Thank you, guys. Love you. After a drop of outside temperature almost to the point of freeze, we acknowledge that going home is not a bad idea at all. So we tried to don't freeze while dressing up and then we set on a trip to back home. To Bilbo again.
