Ok so let's say what Cultural studies are, don't know I guess that almost nobody exactly know what that is and how to define it.
One of the main point of its researching and observation is to find out how everyday life works according to the culture around subject and how they are interacting together. So its something like a symbolical and practical mixture connecting aspects of history, philosophy, anthropology, literature sciences, linguistics, ethnology and sociology.
Especially for this article there is a few questions which should be mentioned here, on my blog. Just the first one doesn't make any sense to me, so lets move to second one. Pfuf I don't know if I've helped to my self anyway Do cultural studies politicise and value popular culture? Try to define popular culture but yeah I guess, they do. At one hand according to *Mr. Hall and his new point of view on whole process of communication, where sender isn't the only one who can affect and set the meaning of whole message, another important part is receiving the message and receiving it in the way which sender wanted to. more less. and on the other hand the John Fiske which said that the meaning of whole message is on recipient nor on the sender.
Hollywood has been preferred for cultural studies, of course it was, because its the mother place for one of the most tracked entertaining influencer and mass media producer. We do what we see so if we want to study culture, go to its basics, easy.
*this guy in the photo is a stuart, meet him.
MacGyver meeting somebody in the mountains, joking about geology and physics, about atom bombs as well, but he would deactivated it without blinking an eye, using a ribbon, half of mealworm, second is for lunch, 3 drops of water, one with soil and his removable tooth. Unfortunately Ive missed this class so I don't have anything to ad, I am deeeeeeeply sorry.

According to cultural studies, the most apparently innocent entertainment products carry strong political messages too. Is The Little Mermaid an exception? No! This little beauty is exactly a textbook example of the way how Disney and other big animation film producers serve typical roles and looks for them. I guess that everyone heard more or less about this red-haired fancy teen with a fish-tail. But does somebody heard also about the original one? The pure little Anderson's mermaid? Almost nobody.
But yeah, she was the real one, the one which has to survive a great pain, as if a sword were passing through her body with each foot step on the ground, also lost her voice, her charming voice, for love with man she saw only once. Little girls, hah, anyway in the end she let her love go away and prefer to let free way for love of prince and his new bride. Actually she was standing above this new prince with a sharp dagger which was supposed to let he come back into the sea to her family, but she through it into the deep sea just as her self and waiting to become a sea foam, but in the process happened something that nobody awaits, she became a Daughter of the air and obtained a new purpose. Now she was supposed to fly to warm countries, and cool the sultry air that destroys mankind with the pestilence where she will carry the perfume of the flowers to spread health and restoration, for 3 hundred years.
The Disneys one had a pretty more obvious and typical end, good won evil lost and both were happy until their death under super glancing rainbow which daddy Poseidon conjured up. Besides those funny-boring facts we could see a lots of hidden signs and typical
portrayal of man and women characters. Poseidon - the king of the sea. Muscled, handsome with a ring bell voice. Ariel - a young cosmically dumb but warm-hearted teen hottie. Urshula - an ugly fat insidious sneaky bitchy witch and young prince, courageous handsome happy funny fella which is searching for his princes. Haha and the little crab which supposed to take a look on little mermaid but he screwed up, typically funny background important character, there wasn't any typical body sign because it was a crab as I said.
Sooo, yep that's it.
